The Promesa Approach
Rooted in Equity
We believe that quality public education is a fundamental right for all families, but unfortunately, many families living in lower-income communities across our city lack access to quality options. We do this work because education has the power to change lives and we want to make sure that all children, but especially those who are often furthest away from opportunity, have access to the education they deserve so that they, in turn, have access to a life of choice and opportunity.
Rooted in Love
Love is at the core of everything that we do at Promesa. We know that children cannot learn until they feel safe and loved and it is our commitment for every child to know that every adult in our building loves them dearly.
Love also penetrates the work that we do - our teachers focus on teaching what they love the most so that their passion and knowledge transfers to their students and inspire them to develop a love for learning
Rooted in Innovation
The world around us is rapidly changing, and yet very little has changed in our public education system for decades. At Promesa, we are constantly researching to improve our approach towards education and putting research into practice as we build a school that truly reflects the needs of our children. Through family and community feedback, our students' input, staff reflections, and research, we hope to be a school that is never satisfied with who we are, but instead always asking what more we can do.
