Eliana Rodriguez is a first generation, Mexican-American who grew up in a low-income area of Austin.  At a very young age, Eliana’s parents instilled in her four siblings and her that education would be the key to their success. Her parents worked incredibly hard to support her during her educational journey, and Eliana feels truly blessed to have had parents who believed in her ability to be something bigger in life.

Because of her upbringing, Eliana strongly believes that every child, regardless of their socio-economic background, deserves access to a life of opportunity. It is for this reason that she is honored to be a Founding Board member of Promesa Academy. She knows first-hand what can happen when students from underserved communities have the same educational opportunities as their more affluent peers, and wants to be a part of ensuring that the children of our city’s Westside have access to the high-quality public education they deserve.

Eliana is currently the Digital Marketing Manager at the San Antonio Area Foundation, a community foundation managing nearly $900 million in assets. She is also a Big Sister through Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Texas and a board member of the De Novo Foundation, a nonprofit organization helping the homeless community move from social services to self-sufficiency. Eliana graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations and journalism from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio.
